-Chocolate World is free and a fun place to visit. There is an interactive ride that explains how chocolate is made!

York 

-Ski Roundtop (20min)

-Gifford Pinchot State Park (20min): Great for hiking and biking for the day!

-Downtown York(25min): Lots of cute shops downtown

-Central Market House: Open Thur, Sat, Tues 7a-2p. Good food and vendors! Check out Cherry Square in the ally behind market to take your lunch to eat or grab a coffee in market!

-Nixon Park: they have an awesome building that you can walk through…be sure to check the hours before going so that you can check out the building along with doing some trails!

-Glatfelter’s Station Heritage Rail Trail(30min): Smooth, easy bike trail with beautiful scenery

Restaurants

Breakfast…

-The Hive(15min): Grab a coffee to go or get one of their breakfast sandwiches! 

-Joe StrEAT Café(18min): A favorite menu item is their breakfast sandwich made with sausage! Avocado toast with an egg and bacon on top is also wonderful! They also offer a variety of local pastries

-ROOST Uncommon Kitchen(25min): wonderful food!

-The Copper Crust Co(30min): The best eggs Benedict! Lots of wonderful pastries made in house! 

Dinner….

-Altland House (10 min): Great, well known local spot

-2 Delicious (13min): BEST gyros around!

-Moonlight Café(15min): Wonderful Italian food!!

-Hamir’s Indian Fusion(25min): Best Indian food in York! Chef will most likely make a round to your table while dining to check in on you! 

-Tutonis Restaurant(25min): Made from scratch pastas and locally sourced produce.

-Wyndridge Farm Restaurant(38min): Craft Brewery and Cidery. Worth the drive! Sit outside and enjoy a variety of ciders! Wonderful food and local favorite! 

-The First Post(35min): Great food!

Lake Tobias, Halifax,PA (1 hr). This is a family run zoo and has been around for many years, be sure to go into their small museum to learn the history. Quite fascinating!

PS…Make sure to spend some extra time with the Gibbons monkeys. They are hilarious!

Lancaster (1hr): 

Drive around and take in the Amish countryside!! Bird in Hand, Ephrata, Lititz are just some of the cute towns around Lancaster!

-The Amish Experience does tours and you can take in all the aspects of Amish life!

-Sight and Sound (people from all over the Country come for these performances, they are excellent)

-Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park: Has a small feel, great for younger kids!

-Dutch Apple Dinner Theater (produces Broadway quality shows!)

-Cocalico Creek Home (similar Magnolia store in Waco, TX)

-Agape Café & Grille has some amazing food!

-Katies Kitchen would be a great place to stop and get some good old PA Dutch cooking!!

Columbia (45min): 

-This area is for all you antique lovers!!! Lots of antique stores and people love traveling here to see what they will find!

-John Wright Restaurant: Sits right on the Susquehanna River. Beautiful location and the food is amazing. The chef here takes particular pride in sourcing locally and switching up dishes often to add variety to the menu!

Parks: 

Chickies Rock County Park for a beautiful view of the Susquehanna River

Rocky Ridge Park: Great for hiking and mountain biking

Sam Lewis State Park: Great park for some hikes and beautiful views of the Susquehanna River

Baltimore (1hr 15min) 

-Kilgore Falls at Rocks State Park: walking trail (1/2 mile) 

-Baltimore Aquarium

-Baltimore Zoo

-Baltimore Inner Harbor

-Port Discovery Children’s Museum 

If you wanna keep heading South Washington DC isn’t too much further down the road!!🙃

Harrisburg (40min)

-Visit the State Capitol Building

-Fort Hunter Mansion and Park

-Wildwood Park

-Walk along the River

-Stop at Au Bon Lieu to eat…they have some amazing Crepes! 

Biglerville (25min)

-The Historic Round Barn & Farm Market

-Boyer Cellars (wine and hard cider tasting)

-Thirsty Farmer Brew Works; Large selection of ales, lagers and ciders hand crafted in their family farm brewery!

*Lots of stuff going on here in the fall with apples in season. Biglerville is full of orchards! Apple Harvest Festival(check online for dates) brings crowds along with orchards being open with pick your own apples.

Gettysburg (30min)

-Tour Gettysburg!!!!! This place is awesome. Take bikes if you have and ride through the battlefield that way, organize a tour (lots of options), check out the Museum. Lots of maps and information online!

-Devils Den is a super cool place if you have little kids, lots of boulders to climb on.

-Horse back ride through the battlefields with a guide!

-Stop and eat at Blue & Gray Bar & Grill or Dobbin House Tavern (very unique experience!!!)
